Maro was created by Moflo and Spaniche Wines with the aim of promoting the region of Carinena and its local grapes. Crafted at Bodegas Anadas in the village of Carinena, Maro Carinena Tinto is one of the first wines to bear the name Carinena Tinto. The vineyard set-up is a mix of modern and traditional trellising systems with a few splatterings of bush vines. Four vineyards make up the estate with varying soils, aspects and altitudes. The lowest vineyard is 400 metres above sea level and the highest vineyards hit 910 metres. The soil types vary in form with loam, sandy loam, gravel and slate.
